Composting the New Farm Field

Event: Composting the New Farm Field


Activity: at 1:00 on Sunday, boy scouts and high school students will converge on historic Hancock’s Resolution to spread compost on a new farm field that will be tilled by horse and mule teams on the following Sunday, May 7.

Date: April 29, 2018


Activity: Anne Arundel County Master Gardener, Cherie Loustaunau will offer two 20-25 minute talks about composting at 1:30 and 2:30 pm. Buckets of grass clippings, kitchen waste and finished compost will help illustrate the process.

Time: 1 to 4 pm


Activity: Cherie will have 4 county issued compost bins and will raffle off two at the end of each presentation. She will distribute goodie bags that contain information related to composting and the Master Gardener Program.

Admission - FREE


Activity: The public is invited to come and help spread compost and visit the gardens from 1:00 to 4:00
