Ollie Calvert built this as a store and lived upstairs. He sold whatever people wanted like hardware or food. Small stores catered to what people in their area needed.

In the 50’s when Ollie was older, he closed the store and lived in the basement. He had a stroke and was taken to South Baltimore General. If a family member had not called the family doctor and gone along with Ollie, it is unlikely that he would have been taken care of in the hospital. An old farmer apparently looked like an ‘old bum’.
